Carol S. Johnson, 84, of 16 Carroll St., died, Thursday, July 21, 2016 at Heritage Park Rehab and Skilled Nursing.
She was born March 15, 1932 in Mayville, the daughter of Hugh and Alice Rollman Stanford.
Carol was a beautician that took great pride in her work. She had owned and operated the Good Look Beauty Nook salon in Frewsburg for many years and was the hairdresser for the Peterson Funeral Home.
Carol loved having her grandchildren around her and enjoyed the special times with her family and friends. She liked baking, playing cards, had a wonderful sense of humor and loved dancing with her husband.
She enjoyed singing, playing piano, and string instruments. Carol was a very talented seamstress with an interest in crafts which include painting and building miniature elaborate scale model homes with her husband.
She was a member of the Frewsburg Legion Auxiliary and the Lakewood Rod and Gun.
Carol is survived by a daughter Cynthia (Ron) Waid of Kennedy, a son Douglas (Cynthia) Johnson of Kiantone; seven grandchildren: Ryan (Raechel) and Evan Waid, Erin Ekstrom, Brenna (Justin) Nelson, Brittney (Matt) Seiberg, Dane and Claire Johnson; five great-grandchildren: Alexandra, Emma, and Harper Waid, Skylar and Hunter Ekstrom; a brother: Paul Stanford of North East, PA, and a sister Rosemary Maulding of Mayville.
She was predeceased by her husband Gerald A. Johnson whom she married in Mayville in 1951 and who died August 6, 2011., and many brothers and sisters.
The funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Peterson Funeral Home, Frewsburg. The Rev. Phil Roushey pastor of Zion Lutheran Church, Frewsburg will officiate. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Frewsburg
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday in the funeral home.
