Virginia Mae Seehausen, 90, of 12 Howard St., Frewsburg, N.Y., died Monday, Feb. 22, 2016, in Heritage Village in Gerry, N.Y. Virginia was born Sept. 14, 1925, in Jamestown, N.Y., to Raymond and Neva Akin. She graduated from Frewsburg High School in 1943 and later attended Jamestown Business College. She enlisted in the U.S. Marines in 1944. She was stationed in Cherry Point, N.C., during World War II, and that is where she met her husband Herman Seehausen, who was also a Marine. Virginia and Herman moved together to Frewsburg, N.Y., where she owned a gift store, and she was employed at Crescent Tool. She worked as a purchasing agent for Bankers Trust and Key Bank, and as a school secretary at Love Elementary School. Virginia is survived by her son, David (Jennifer Champ); and grandchildren, Willa and Maxwell of Falconer, N.Y. Virginia was an active longtime member of the First Church of Christ Science in Jamestown. Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Raymond and Neva Akin; husband,Herman Seehausen; brother, Clayton Akin; and sister, Helen Liber. A funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 26 at 4 p.m. at the Peterson Funeral Home in Frewsburg, N.Y. The family will receive friends from 5-8 pm Thursday Feb. 25, in the funeral home.
